The Southport and Ormskirk Hospital NHS Trust and the Cheshire and Merseyside STP Chair requested clinical advice from the Northern England Clinical Senate on how to develop a clinically sustainable future for the Trust. This advice covered the following areas – Emergency Department and Acute Medicine, the Frail Elderly Pathway, Maternity, Paediatrics and Emergency and Elective Surgery. This advice was published in a report followed by additional support and commentary on documents produced as part of the development on clinical scenarios for future delivery. The formal clinical assurance review of these proposals will be undertaken by the Yorkshire and Humber Clinical Senate.
