East Midlands Clinical Senate NHS Derby and Derbyshire CCG – Chesterfield Royal Hospital Hyper Acute Stroke Unit (HASU) Service Review – Desktop Exercise (February 2022)

The Clinical Senate was commissioned by Derby and Derbyshire CCG to review the process and outcome of an options appraisal for the Hyper Acute Stroke Unit (HASU) at Chesterfield Royal Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. The Senate was proactively approached by the CCG to gain independent, external clinical support on a transformation project, dependent on the outcome of the local options appraisal process. The Senate support also included a review of the internal processes to ensure they were sufficiently rigorous and robust.
