Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland Review of Maternity Services

The senate tested the clinical evidence base underpinning the proposal and provided a clinical opinion on the equity and quality in access. The senate considered whether the proposal was clinically capable of delivering maternity services and was aligned to Better Births. The buildings used to deliver services are old and, in some cases, not fit for purpose. The STP Better Care Together strategic plan is to reduce from three to two acute sites to ensure future clinical sustainability and affordability.
