Retrospective application of NHS Bed Test on bed closures proposed in the Oxfordshire Phase 1 reconfiguration proposals

The NHS Bed Test was introduced after the review of the Oxfordshire Phase 1 proposals was completed but given the complexity of the proposals, the Senate was asked to apply the bed test retrospectively. The review focussed on the introduction of an ambulatory assessment unit and the closure of hospital beds to fund beds in nursing homes to facilitate ‘discharge to assess’.
