Request for advice from Strategic Clinical Networks who had concerns that the implementation of the Health and Social Care Act 2012 had resulted in a significant increase in acute referrals out of Wessex (particularly for Specialised Services). The Senate commissioned information analysis to ascertain whether this was the case. Referrals out of Wessex had in fact declined in 2013 compared with previous years.
